For you, it’s more than a career. It’s a calling. The Fire Technology Program trains individuals to perform rescues, save lives, and protect property from fire. The curriculum is designed to meet the educational needs of pre-employment students, as well as those already working in fire service and seeking to upgrade their skills.

In addition to the public fire services, some related fire protection opportunities include fire sprinkler designers (drafting), fire alarm installers, private fire protection service, safety inspectors, fire investigators, insurance company inspectors, fire protection consultants, suppression equipment designers & installers, fire apparatus and equipment sales & service.

San Diego Miramar College is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The Fire Protection Technology Program (FIPT) is an Accredited Regional Training Program.
Enrollment is open to high school graduates and persons at least 18 years of age, with or without a high school diploma or under 18 with special/counselor approval. Applicants should be physically fit.
San Diego Miramar College is a community college with low enrollment fees established by the California State Legislature. Veteran’s Affairs (VA) benefits, scholarships, and other financial aid are available to qualifying students.
